A boyhood dream on wheels
Malatra BV — full name Masschelin-Lannoo Transport — has existed since 2021, but the story starts much earlier. Wesley Masschelin was drawn to the world of transport as a child, and at 18, fresh out of school in Zeebrugge, he climbed straight behind the wheel as an international driver.
The dream of nearly every truck driver is to own their own tractor unit. In 2021, Wesley made that dream real — and chose a clear specialism from day one: transport to and from Italy. Not a coincidence, but a deliberate choice he has never strayed from since.
With its own tractor units, closed box trailers and refrigerated trucks, Malatra BV now runs a steady route between Belgium and Italy, complemented by trips across the rest of Europe and Great Britain. A loyal network of partners means there's a hassle-free solution for every load — from fresh produce to high-secured transport.
Now the circle is complete: son Twarres has joined the family business, ready to take to the road just like his father did. It's no coincidence one of our trailers is named Father & Son — a name that no longer just rides on its flank, but rings true.
